The Ploughman’s Rest began as a response to my own pursuit for meaning.
As a younger man, I sensed the gospel’s force to propel me into frenzied action. I crashed. It wasn’t pretty. I had been ignorant of, or maybe ignored, that the gospel is primarily a call to rest.
As an older man, I began to wonder at the seeming paradox of faith, that the gospel compels us to both service and rest. I pray that you will find here, in these wandering thoughts, a signpost to the gospel of grace found in God’s Son, Jesus. And there, that you will find rest for your soul that readies you to return to the field with strength.
