About

Before I was a writer, I was a follower of Jesus. Christ rescued me from darkness despite my sin, despite my rebellion, and despite my ongoing hard-heartedness. I am not who I will one day be, but by God’s grace, my future is secure in Christ. Not only a disciple, I am also a husband to one and dad to five. Beyond that, I am nobody in this world, known only to a few, and for a season. Yet my hope is in one greater than me. I hope that in my brief time, whether in person or through my words, I may help bear the burden of others, lift their eyes to see Jesus, and rejoice as others enter the Kingdom.

The Ploughman’s Rest began as a response to my own pursuit of gospel depth. I didn’t set out to write a blog, I set out to fall in love with Jesus every time I opened my Bible. Yet grace upon grace will eventually overflow, so my own curiosity to see the world through transformed eyes, and my own passion to find beautiful ways to say worthy things, eventually spilled out onto a page. Sometimes, the best way to see things well, is to say things well, and that is my hope for this little corner of the web.
