My name is Chris Thomas. A fortunate husband, a father of three and Dad to five, I’m an advocate of foster care as an implication of the gospel. I’m also a pastor at Raymond Terrace Community Church, a regional church based in the Hunter Valley, Australia. I mostly write about the gospel and how it informs both work and rest.

Water & the Blood

One of my favourite adaptation of Isaac Watt's hymn has been Sojourn Music's remake of this classic.

I love Watts willingness to deal with the brokenness of our experience, yet not wallow in defeat, instead lifting our gaze to the victor who has defeated death. That's what I need to hear. I am so prone to laying down on the battle field. I need to hear that Christ has overcome, and will lift my drooping head.

I would encourage you to watch this short documentary on Sojourn's 'Water & the Blood' project. It's one of my most played albums.
