My name is Chris Thomas. A fortunate husband, a father of three and Dad to five, I’m an advocate of foster care as an implication of the gospel. I’m also a pastor at Raymond Terrace Community Church, a regional church based in the Hunter Valley, Australia. I mostly write about the gospel and how it informs both work and rest.

I'm Looking For Writers

I'm Looking For Writers

and for those who aren’t sure if they are.

I’ve written in the past of my journey toward being comfortable in my own skin with the idea of calling myself a writer. You can read more on that here.

A part of that journey involved plucking up the courage to send a few of my faltering pieces out into the big wide world and see if my words could fit in in other spaces. I was nervous, scared in fact. I was scared I’d be rejected, that others would find my words hollow and without use. Maybe you feel that too.

What I found was that while I still had room to grow (still have room to grow!), forcing my hand to put words into other spaces helped me grow as a writer.

I’d like to provide a space here, in my little corner of the web, for you to test the waters. Maybe you’ve been waiting to pluck up the courage, I get that, but why not try here? I would especially love to see home grown writers develop here in Australia, but even if you’re from across the seas, you’re welcome too.
